~ Byrdene Perkins, my grandmother

2 egg whites
½ c. sugar
½ t. vanilla
6 oz. (1 c.) chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Beat egg whites until stiff and dry. Beat in 6 T. sugar individually until peaks. Add vanilla. Fold in chips with rest of sugar. Scoop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 40-50 minutes.

Ok... what do these taste like?? Very interesting recipe.

Kristal - The closest thing I can compare them to is meringue, but that's not exactly what they are. They must melt in your mouth.
