BANANA SPICE COOKIES

Better Homes & Gardens New Cook Book

1/2 c. margarine or butter
2 1/4 c. all purpose flour
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
1/2 t. ground cinnamon
1/4 t. baking soda
1/8 t. ground cloves
3 bananas, mashed (1 cup)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat margarine with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add about half the flour, the sugar, eggs, baking powder, vanilla, cinnamon, baking soda, and cloves. Beat until thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. Beat in bananas.

Drop by rounded teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on rack.

Makes about 4 dozen.

Notes: These cookies are like little pillows of banana bread, a family favorite.
