CINNAMON CRUNCH POPCORN

~ Whirley-Pop Recipe Book

2 t. cinnamon
1 T. sugar
1/4 t. salt (optional)
1/4 c. popcorn kernels
1/4 c. oil
1/4 c. sugar

In a measuring cup, mix cinnamon, 1 T. sugar, and salt. Set aside.

Put oil, kernels, and remaining sugar in Whirley-Pop and turn stove to medium. Popping should start in 2-3 minutes. Stir until popping almost stops.

Remove quickly from heat, open lid and pour in spice mixture over hot popcorn. Close lid and continue stirring (keep off the burner) until thoroughly mixed. Pour into large bowl and continue stirring with large spoon.

Notes: We always have a jar of cinnamon sugar in the cupboard, so I just use a little less than 2 T. of that mixture for this recipe. I find it works best to sprinkle some in, stir, sprinkle more in, stir, etc. instead of dumping it all in at once. The cinnamon distributes more evenly that way. If you want to tone this recipe down a little, then combine one batch of this recipe with one batch of regular kettle corn.
