S'MORES BARS

~ The Spruce Eats

3/4 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
3 c. crushed graham crackers, about 18 whole
1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips or 8 milk chocolate bars (12 oz.)
3 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease 9x13-inch pan.

Beat butter and sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in crushed graham crackers, flour, and salt. Reserve 1 cup of the graham cracker mixture and press remaining mixture over the bottom of prepared pan.

Arrange chocolate bars, in a single layer, over graham cracker crust mixture in the pan. Sprinkle with marshmallows. Crumbled reserved graham cracker mixture over the marshmallows.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting.

Notes: The original recipe says to let it cool for 10 minutes, cut into bars, then cool completely. That makes a gooey mess, hence my instruction to let the bars cool before cutting.
