GARLIC GREEN BEANS

~ Teri's Kitchen

2 T. olive oil
1 lb. green beans, cleaned and stem tips removed
salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 t. dried marjoram
2 T. minced garlic
water

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil, beans, salt, and pepper. Saute until lightly golden, about 3 minutes. Add the marjoram and garlic; saute another minute. Add just enough water for moisture, about 3 tablespoons. Cover, reduce heat to medium, and cook 15 to 20 minutes or until beans are the desired tenderness. Uncover and cook until any moisture is evaporated.

Notes: Letting the green beans get a little browned in the beginning gives them a flavor similar to grilling. Delicious! I've also mixed all the ingredients and roasted them for 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 400 degrees.
